Here our students celebrate Constitution Day by reading the constitution in front of the Henry County Courthouse, beside the statue of Patrick Henry.

Our government club enjoys learning about current issues and our nation's founding. We sponsor activities such as reading the Constitution in front of our county courthouse, discussions of current events, and attending conferences about issues of concern.

We are excited that Soli Deo Gloria has an affiliate of the YAF national educational organization for young people, ages 13-19. Alumni of SDG may also join, and parents are welcome to attend events and meetings with their children.

We focus on issues relating to the constitution and freedom worldwide. We decorated a model of the Berlin Wall in 2014 and displayed this at the public library to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the wall in 1989, and later donated it to the permanent collection of the Henry County Historical Museum.

Most recently, our students organized Constitution Day as an annual event on the McDonough Square. We read the Constitution at noon and Tommy D's article on "What Constitution Day Means to Me" was published in the Henry County Times.

Tommy D is the founding chairman. He attended the YAF National High School Leadership Conference twice. Others who have attended the national leadership conference include Jacob S, Hannah P, Susie D, Zach P, Viv F, Becky, and Jessica P.
